Between Two

On top of a graduated pink and red background, abstract forms are suspended in a colour scheme of mainly black, taupe, and beige. This abstract composition contains semi-recognisable forms which intrigue the viewer. For example, floating in the top left is a biomorphic, foetal shape. In the lower half of the piece there are hieroglyphic-like symbols which we have an urge to decipher. This was created in the last ten years of Kandinsky’s career when his work incorporated the various styles and influences of his earlier portfolio.
